Bellahouston, we have a problem…
Managed to blag free tickets for Snow Patrol at Bellahouston Park at the weekend. I missed a couple of the support bands I’d been really keen to catch…Frightened Rabbit and Band of Horses. But I got off of the specially laid-on FirstBus service and wandered across the park in time to catch all of Editors set and Snow Patrol themselves.
Great performances from both of them and they managed to get the 25,000-strong crowd singing along in fine voice. To be fair, the crowd were already pretty vocal having warmed up with a 15-minute chant of “U-S-A…U-S-A…U-S-A” (England’s opponents in the World Cup that night).
Great night; more of this in Glasgow, please. Since T in the Park migrated from Strathclyde Park to Balado, big outdoor gigs in Glasgow have been too few and far between. There’s obviously still a market for it.
